Guided Missouri Waterfowl Hunting

LEARN WHO WE ARE

Feather Factory

Off the banks of the Little Osage River in West Central Missouri sits a little piece of duck hunting nirvana called the Feather Factory Duck Club. Situated five miles from Four Rivers National Wildlife Refuge in the historic migratory routes of waterfowl, is seven separate tracks of habitat developed specifically for ducks and geese. These wetlands are a mix of small moist soil wetlands, flooded corn, timber and open water specifically designed to take advantage of any hunting situation throughout the waterfowl season and to provide a quiet undisturbed place for the off-season migrations. The Feather Factory Duck Club is a culmination of 15 years of guiding duck and goose hunters, the knowledge of local flight patterns, and the desire to build a club where hunters can come at their leisure to experience lifetime memories. Owner, Jacob Duncan grew up outside of Nevada, MO, sometimes tagging along or sometimes getting dragged along on waterfowl hunts with his father and guide, Chadd Duncan. Jacob’s childhood duck hunts soon turned in to youth calling contests and then guiding full time in Arkansas for ducks and snow geese. It was during this time that he decided he wanted to do more than just guide With a longtime background of farming and hunting. With the final push of encouragement from longtime friend and mentor Rob Hansen. He decided to go home and pursue his own Outfitter service.

After a lead from a close friend about a piece of property, He told his wife about a meeting he just had with a local landowner and was going to build marshes and start a duck club. The following July after Jacobs wife recovered from shock, Jacob broke ground on the first of many levees for the Feather Factory Duck Club. The first season was a resounding success despite the weather, drought, delayed migration and lessons learned, and sweat equity. Jacob famous words were “just wait, They’ll find it” “Phase 2” started in January with a plan to develop additional habitat and build a lodge for club members to stay overnight in. In cooperation with the current landowners, the gutting and rehabbing of a building built in 1914 was started. Additionally, ground was starting to be moved to create the levees needed for the marsh expansion. By fall 2023, the Feather Factory Duck Club will have 7 separate hunting units, a lodge with kitchen, bathroom, lockers, lounge and sleeping quarters with showers. All units will have blinds supplied with numerous high-quality decoys. The Feather Factory Duck Club is not a guide-based club though Jacob will be more than happy to take you.The club is designed for the members to come as they want and when they want. It is designed for members to have a place to escape from the business of everyday life and enjoy time outdoors. Lastly, it is designed for wildlife. Jacob and the members of the Feather Factory Duck Club are not just hunters, we are conservations as well. Please feel free to call Jacob at (417) 321-3339 if you have any questions.
